Mercer Bradley Celebrates Staffing for Canada Week, 2009
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) June 1, 2009 -- From June 1 to 7, Mercer Bradley will join more than 1300 other members of The Association of Canadian Search, Employment & Staffing Services (ACSESS) in celebrating Staffing for Canada Week. Professional staff and field workers will also take part in marking this celebration of Canada's staffing industry.
Staffing for Canada Week is a time for recognition of an industry that helps Canadian businesses succeed while finding jobs for over 400,000 citizens every year. As part of the network of 1,300 ACSESS member companies stretching from British Columbia to Newfoundland, Mercer Bradley is proud to play a role in meeting the needs of organizations and job seekers within Canada.
Since its origin in 1980 as "National Temporaries' Week", Staffing for Canada Week has gained recognition in the United States as well as Canada. Media figures as well as local and national leaders have expressed support for Staffing for Canada Week.
In a letter to this year's participants, Prime Minister Stephen Harper noted: "Staffing agencies fill a valuable need in an increasingly complex labour market by helping businesses quickly locate talent for short or long-term assignments, offering valuable work experience to young people, or finding new opportunities for experienced workers."
British Columbia premier Gordon Campbell wrote, "I would also like to acknowledge Canadian staffing agencies and their recruiters, consultants and field staff, for the great work that they do in assisting those who are searching for temporary and contract employment and businesses looking for short term employees.
Your work has been very effective and truly makes a difference."
